Title: Special Baked Apples (Aha)

Yield: 4 Servings

4 Apples, Jonathan or McIntosh
  Rinsed
2tsFresh lemon juice
4tsGolden raisins
4tsFirmly packed brown sugar
2tsSugar
2tsGround cinnamon
2tsAcceptable margarine
1tbUnsalted dry-roasted finely
  Copped pecans or walnuts
1/2cRum or sherry

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Core apples but to not cut through the bottoms. Cut a 1/2-inch wide strip of peel off the top of each apple around the hole. Place apples in a baking dish and sprinkle with lemon juice. Fill centers with raisins, brown sugar, and sugar. Sprinkle all with cinnamon. Add margarine to each apple. Sprinkle nuts on top of apples. Pour rum or sherry into bottom of baking dish.

Bake 30-35 minutes, basting several times during cooking time. Serve warm or cold.
